Petal dance is powerful (90 hit points, 20 pp, special), but confuses you after 2 or 3 turns. Magical leaf is decent(60 hit points, 20 pp, special) and never misses.
In pokemon pearl, which is a better move. Petal dance or magical leaf?

Reply:Petal Dance seems better because most of the time before you get confused your foe faints.but if you're versing a trainer you cold switch to your strongest pokemon then use Full Heal on the pokemon that knows Petal Dance.(If the trainer has 2 or more pokemon.)
Reply:I perfer Petal Dance. If you give your Pokemon a Persim berry it will heal the confusion straight away during the battle. Just make sure that you grow lots of them if you use this Pokemon a lot.

Reply:I use magical leaf with my Gardivor (don't ask why) but since it has high enough Sp. Atk its more than suitable. And that never miss is very nice.
