How can I save rose petals for a wedding in July?

I have several rose bushes. My cousin is getting married in July and is wanting to use the petals from my roses for the flower girl. How can I start saving the rose petals for the wedding that will occur in about a month and a half? The wedding is set for July 14, 2007.

How can I save rose petals for a wedding in July?
I'm assuming you want fresh and that will be kinda tough. I would suggest cutting off entire heads of roses that are just getting ready to bloom.

Put them in a plastic container with a lid and a damp paper towel. Store them in the crisper in the fridge. Don't pull the petals off of the roses until you are ready to use them.

How can you make potpurri from rose petals?

the petals are coming off of my roses, and they smell sooo good i hate to throw them away, does anybody know of a way to take advantage of that, and make potpourri or bring the smell of them out?

How can you make potpurri from rose petals?
Spread them on absorbent paper and let them dry completely. Pare the outer skin from an orange (don't include the white part underneath) Cut it in strips, and let it dry too. When the petals and the orange peel are dried out, mix them with some whole cloves and broken bits of cinnamon stick. Toss with a couple drops of rose oil, and you have wonderful potpourri. (You need the rose oil, because most commercial roses have no aroma these days---it's bred out. Now if you can get your hands on some old-fashioned wild rambling roses, or some lavendar, and dry those, you'll have an even better final product.)
Reply:Put them in hot water.
Reply:First dry the petals and then drizzle a little rose oil over them. Ta Dah! :)

Im going to do it for my gf im going to put rose petals on the stairs and then her bed. which kind would be the best for that?

What are the best type of rose petals to use for valenties day?
buy fake rose petals. They look real, and they are reusable. They also come in all colors. They are cheaper then real roses, and less time consuming because they are already unattached from the rose.

Yet it still will set the mood.
Reply:yes red fabric ones, they won't stain if they get stepped on like real ones do, but don't vacuum them they will plug your cleaner.

What do you think of the name "Petal"...?

for a girl? My son came up with it. He mixed the letters in my name and my husbands name. Ive never heard the name before and I think its pretty cute. Too unusual? Just want some honest opinions thanks :)

What do you think of the name "Petal"...?
I think it is very cute and the story about your son and your names makes it cuter. It is a little strange, but if you like unique names, go for it. Just make sure it sounds good with your last name as well. Congrats!
Reply:It is unusal. It's kind of cute. I dont think u would hve to worry about anyone else sharing that name w/her. But I dont know if people would think of it as a "hippie" name....? I dont know what your names are, but what about Teale? That is kind of cute too. Best of luck to you w/the name!
Reply:Well if you want your daughter to get teassed in class, then yeah, It's a good name.
Reply:Have you ever read the children's books by Kevin Henkes? He always uses those kinds of names for his little mouse characters.
Reply:u could name her petal rose

good luck
Reply:Daisy Petal...juss adorable!!!!
Reply:Sweet idea but the name is pretty lyrical. Maybe if you branched off of that and named her after a flower. You'd still be "honoring" you son's imput and the name wouldn't be SO unique. Good luck!
Reply:I like unusual but I'm sorry I don't like that one.
Reply:awwwwwwww no i think its a lovely idea x
Reply:Yah, if your from India.
Reply:Cute concept, but it is a common noun, which I think is bad for a person. Think about it. If she were to get hit by a car, bus, or aluminum baseball bat, the headline in the newspaper would be "Metal to the Petal."

It is also a homonym with peddle, which doesn't always have the best connotations.
Reply:I think that it is cute and it is great that the brother is included in choosing a name.
Reply:Ack.

I guess it'd be a cute name if people on this earth weren't as likely to tease people about something as vulnerable as their names.

If you like it, though, go ahead!! No one's stopping you, and it's your daughter.

Good luck!

Reply:I don't care for the name but if that is the name that you and your husband like then name the child that. It's different and I have never thought about a name like that.
Reply:Please don't do that to your child.
Reply:Being unique with a first name may sometimes cause your child problems. Also remember that other children will tease your child with an extremely unique name or one that means something "they" might consider funny. Have fun with the middle name. The middle name maybe the perfect spot for that unique name you've been thinking of!
Reply:Well, its a cute name but if you were going to use it i would put it as a middle name. I wouldn't like that to be my name. I think it may be cute for a baby or a child, but when she grows into a teen and an adult, I dont think it would sound cute anymore. Hope this helps.
Reply:I think it would make a really cute middle name! especially since you son came up with it. However, it's too much for a first name, it will inflict extra teasing
Reply:Sorry but i think it would be weird as a name
Reply:Petal is the name of the kid in that Kevin Spacey movie. I just can't remember the name of it. I like the name.
Reply:Reminds me of the sort of name a fairy would have in a children's story. It's cute, sure, and pretty. But how many people do you think would seriously want to hire a woman named Petal? Sounds like a good middle name, perhaps, but I'd probably decide on something else for a first name.
Reply:Its cute and if the little girl doesn't like it you could always put the blame on the brother.

But really its really cute

I have a freind who was named by her brother her name is TommieSue he wanted a brother.
Reply:I am so sorry to say this but I think that would be a terrible name. Pet is the shortened name for it and that could be really bad. I am usually open minded about this type of thing because I had an unusual name and never got teased about it. however I learned that if your name sounds like something off color or sexual you will get teased so bad.

If anything please use it as a middle name so this girl wont be harassed or called Pet.
Reply:It's a cute name but it's also the name of a "not so nice" character in a book called "The Shipping News" which I think won a Pulitzer...just thought you should know!
Reply:I have a unique name so I'm all for it and think it sounds like a pretty name but two things to consider: 1) it might be too unusual and she will always have questions about it; and 2) sometimes "Petal" sounds like "Pedal" as bike pedal or the pedal on a piano. And that doesn't very pretty.

What about using it as her middle name?
Reply:people might start calling her "pet" for short... which just makes me think of dogs... but if you like it, go for it... i think the idea of mixing you and your husband's names up is cute, although i'm a sucker for more traditional names...
Reply:It's a cute nickname but I don't think that being the child's real name will be good. What if you doesn't like little cute names? Then you got a problem.
Reply:its cute for a little girl but what about as a teenager or an adult...

How do you remove stuck on flower petals from the hood of a car?

How do I dry just the petals of flowers, to use in potpourri?

I have some wonderful poeni roses . they are now being to drop their petals and I would like to dry and use them for potpourri.

How do I dry just the petals of flowers, to use in potpourri?
Spread a piece of muslin, or cheesecloth on a rack (like a cake cooler), and scatter petals over. DO NOT put it in the sun, they will all fade to the same wishy washy colour. Dry them inside in an airy place.
Reply:Use a window screen or make a bed of some kind that will allow air to flow through. Spread out the petals and let them dry in the sun. Stir up as needed. Keep from getting wet.

Rose Petal Jam?

Has Anyone Ever Tried This? I Want TO Make It And I Have A Recipe For It, But I'm I Little Iffy On The Flavor and Texture.

What does it tast like?

Is it chunky or smooth? (Like preserves to jam)

What rose did you use?

Where did you get it?

Sorry I ask a lot. I just want to know before I spend like a bujillion dollars on it and have it taste like...welll, you know...

Rose Petal Jam?
My mom made Rose Jelly, it was a smooth strained jelly, with an interesting essence of rose. It was rather strange to eat....not something I would pick again. It was best served on a plain water cracker.

It is hard to explain the taste, it tasted like roses smell.....LOL.

How do you preserve rose petals?

I have a rose bush and want to preserve the petals somehow and put them in a glass dish to save for a long long time.

How do you preserve rose petals?
I preserve my rose petals in one of two ways, depending on what I want to do with them. If I want them to retain their color and shape, I fill a glass container with drugstore glycerine and submerge the rose in it. If I want to make popurri or arrangements with them, I dry them in kitty litter. Some colors and types of roses dramatically change when dried though.
Reply:Buy a glass apothecary jar with a tight fitting lid %26amp; put them in there. My mother used to collect all of her rose petals %26amp; made potpourri with them. What a beautiful scent when she took the lid off the jar.
Reply:Ideally, you must harvest them in the morning, after they have first opened and the dew has evaporated. You then must gently pull the petals off and lay them singly on a drying screen, such as old window screens, where air can circulate all over and under them, out of direct sunlight. The amount of time it takes for the petals to become crispy-dry depends on how hot and humid your days are. But they must be crispy-dry like corn flakes or you'll risk molding. (You could dry them in a barely warm oven, but I would advise not to. It is easier and faster, but the roses will lose some of their fragrance from heating of their oils.) After completely dried, store them in tightly sealed glass jars in a dark place out of the sun or light. Properly dried and stored rose petals will retain their fragrance for a long time if not exposed to air.Twist
Reply:You need to dry them out in a flower press then. Other ways are in glycerine, or freezing.

You LOVE me...You LOVE me NOT... what would the last PETAL tell me?

in Love, which do you trust more, CHANCE or DESTINY...

which would the last Petal be?

You LOVE me...You LOVE me NOT... what would the last PETAL tell me?
I trust destiny, chance is too chancy. I am determined to love, so I seldom get to the last petal, substituting "YOU LOVE ME" for any and all remaining petals since that's the outcome I want and will work for. That's destiny.
Reply:Who cares? The point is

LOVE CHANGES THE WORLD!
Reply:Petal's can't talk so it won't be able to tell me anything.

Love isn't very trusting fullstop, it has to prove itself to me again that it won't stuff up.
Reply:love me not. who cares about petals- this is how my relationships wind up anyway.
Reply:The last petal may tell you that you can't count correctly or that maybe you need to ask the object of your affections if the fealings are mutual. Then stop pulling poor defenceless flowers apart.
Reply:If not successful the 4 letters, Why don't you the 3 letters, which starting from "D"
Reply:I believe our present life is about meeting new challenges - both positive and negative - due to our past karma - and learning from it (that creates our present karma which carries over to our future karma).

Therefore, both chance (what your choices have been) and destiny (result of karma) are components to love.

In this life, it has told me the answer - for I have found my love. I don't have the answer for you.
Reply:In Love, I trust DESTINY more, CHANCE can be painful, DESTINY is a sure thing, CHANCE, is just that, I don't hold much Faith in CHANCE, as for the last petal...it would be You LOVE Me, because in DESTINY, it is a guarantee that LOVE will be there, in CHANCE, there is no guarantee.... So for me, My last petal would tell you that You LOVE Me...

=)
Reply:of which color the petals are

if you have doubt in love then that will not be your love ,doubt is alarming point that tells to stay away from the flurt.

if your love is true then you will not have doubts and that person will not do such act that creates misunderstanding

if today's marriages are at risk then what we can say about love

i think at risk

i think you don't have roses or a rose there

that's why you are asking us 'which would the last petal be?'

well on your behalf

i do that

by the way

how cruel are you?

you will break the petals of rose

rose will feel pain

so for your love you want to give pain to rose.

this will put you in misconception

go straight and ask your love.

don't be coward
Reply:The last petal tells you the flower is dead and done for. I don't believe in destiny. I do believe in chance, and what we make or fail to make of it. The last petal is for the sweetest memory.
Reply:The last petal would tell you .....I don't know you...... so take a CHANCE and get to know me better...
Reply:that you never love me

destiny and chance
Reply:The love does not thrive in a flip-flop situation. The last petal would give a fragrance of the love gone by.
Reply:I think it depends on what the last Petal is. If it is You Love Me, people think it's DESTINY. If it is You Love Me NOT, people think it's CHANCE. Personally, I would not bother if a love is that doubtful.
Reply:I would hope that the last petal, would be, You Love me. When you are in Love, it always is Destiny that I would trust more.
Reply:LOVE ME NOT ITS HARD TO LOVE.
Reply:You love me.

Mostly I don't believe in "Destiny". At least, I don't believe in Destiny as fixed. We create our own destiny.
Reply:It all depends how many petals there are. I vote destiny because you know when you meet the right person that it wasn't chance.
Reply:that "i love you"
Reply:maybe: i love you and there is one more left....
Reply:You love me.

Chance or destiny depends on the outlook you have in life. If it is positive, things will turn out good. If your are a pessimist, things will turn out bad. That is the way it goes.
Reply:A bit of both I think OK
Reply:i do believe in destiny. it's all decided by fate. if we are destined to get a loving partner ,no one can stop you. love is mutual. give and take business. the more you give , the last petal would be --- more love. you can win anything with love.
Reply:if I leave it to chance it could go either way but if I leave it to destiny it will be what it will be but seeing you are already my friend, then it is obvious that I love you. I 'm the kind of person that cares about my friends and love them dearly. have a great day enki.
Reply:Don't cheat ! It depends on the first petal.
Reply:love me If I see it will end with not I rip off one petal.I like happy ending.destiny of course.
Reply:I trust neither, but am often tossed by a combination of both. In my world, the last petal would be a signal to stop maligning flowers for truth... truths are generally found elsewhere.
Reply:Chance that I obtained an Office job instead of Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Service.

Destiny in that I met my beloved Gwenneth at that office.

Rose P.
Reply:I don't THINK the last PETAL would tell me DESTINY or CHANCE because I don't BELIEVE in either.
Reply:Chance is Destiny. Always choose love.
Reply:Love can change your life....if you leave it to petal to decide, you already leave it to chance....normally chances always surrounded people, but few of them able to grab it...it just like a sand easily escape from holes between two fingers.....

For destiny, no matter you want or you do not... it is there and fixed for you long time....

You will never know when is your destiny , unless time tells you.

How can I use dried rose petals in home decorating?

I have some dried rose petals from a bouquet and I would like to use them to decorate a frame, but I haven't found any instructions. Any ideas on how to make it or how to make anything else using petals? Thanks!

How can I use dried rose petals in home decorating?
if you want to use them for the frame, take a little hot glue and put a little on the frame and place a petal on it...in any design you want. you could also try decorating the actual glass of the picture frame by placing some flatted petals behind the glass right before you put in a picture.
Reply:I don't know how to use them in a frame but if you put them in a vase with oil they will stay. Here's a really cute smow globe with the petals. Take a clean glass jar that has a lid, you can find one in the fridge or at your local $1 store they always have decorative ones. Take the lid and glue a figure or momento of some sort. set it to the side and let it dry. Put the flowers, you may have to cut them up a bit if its a small jar, in the jar and some sparly confetti and fill with a clear oil, or you can use distilled water, and make sure that you don't fill it all the way to the top, b/c when you screw the lid on, it will make the watercome out some if its too full. Then glue the jar to lid. Here is the website I found that on. I have done may of them and they are adorable. Good Luck!

Can you find real rose petals for cheap?

I'm getting married later this year and I need lots of real rose petals. I am on a budget and I thought using rose petals would be cheaper than big formal arrangements, but so far everything I've found has been really expensive. I have to use the real petals because of the outdoor facility, so fake ones are out. If anyone knows what would be the best way to get a lot of real rose petals for cheap please let me know.

Can you find real rose petals for cheap?
Check with some of your local florists. If I were you, I would try some of the smaller shops first. When florists are processing roses, or making arrangements they are usually removing petals from roses to make them look better. Also, if roses "blow" in the cooler before they can be used, those roses would be discarded. Ask the florist if she can save those petals for you. You should start asking now, but not have her save any until a month or so before the wedding. I often saved petals for brides in a large plastic garbage bag in the bottom of my cooler; They "keep" a really long time. The only problem with this will be that the petals will be assorted colors; you can't very well ask a florist to separate colors for you. You might offer her a small fee for her trouble.
Reply:Consider going to a garden center that has a big selection of roses, and ask if they'd let you snip some blooms that are starting to droop or fade (and don't take the new blooms!). At a large enough garden center, you might get as many as 100 roses' worth of petals. Just be sure to buy something while you're there, to say "thanks."

If there are any public rose gardens around, you could ask the gardeners there to save any spent blooms for you, and then make a donation to the garden.

You could also ask neighbors who have roses, and bake up cookies as thanks.
Reply:Try whole sale florist street in your town if in a large city for roses also might want to change flowers, candles are a nice alternative
Reply:hmm maybe you should ask florists if they have any leftovers...and ask if you can pay them a nominial fee for them.
Reply:yes buy seed and grown them

I'm considering Petal. Rose, Iris, Violet. any suggestions

Petal , a nice name for a little girl??
Petal is not a name!!!!!! It reminds of the skunk on Bambi named Flower.

Ahhh No way. It sounds like you mixed up your translations and ment Rose Petal. Horrible. Don't do it!

Drop the Petal and the names sound soooo much better.
Reply:nO!! none of them! sure those names are cute for a baby.. but think when they are grown up! sounds silly!
Reply:I'm not a big fan of Petal ... I know it's strange, but it actually sounds a little harsh. Rose is sweet, but it's becoming far too popular. Out of your list, I'm quite fond of Violet. It's feminine and really unheard of.

Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Alcohol-Free Toner or Thayer's Original Witch Hazel Astringent?
I never heard of the Rose Petal toner but I use Original witch hazel on my face every night before I go to bed. I have really sensitive skin that either burns from products or I break out from them. There is never a happy medium. For some reason the regular witch hazel never bothers my skin and has actually controlled what breakouts I did have. Hope this helps!

Area of a petal using Green's Theorem?

Use Green's theorem to compute the area of one petal of the 4-leafed rose defined by r = 18 sin(2θ).

It may be useful for recall that the area of a region D enclosed by a curve C can be expressed as A = 1/2 ∫ xdy - ydx

Area of a petal using Green's Theorem?
I have an alternate solution that doesn't use Green's Theorem that you might or might not want to use.

One petal begins and ends at r = 0. So let's start by finding where θ is for r = 0

r = 0

18sin2θ = 0

sin2θ = 0

2θ = 0, ±Ï€, ±2Ï€, ...

θ = 0, ±Ï€/2, ±Ï€, ...

We choose two consecutive angles where the petal begins and ends. Let's choose a = 0 and b = π/2

The area for a polar curve is defined by:

A = ∫(a..b) 1/2 r^2 dθ

A = ∫(0..Ï€/2) 1/2 (18sin2θ)^2 dθ

A = ∫(0..Ï€/2) 1/2 * 324(sin2θ)^2 dθ

A = ∫(0..Ï€/2) 162 (sin2θ)^2 dθ

Now you just use the half-angle to simply sin2θ and integrate from there to get your answer, which should be 81π/2.

plants like the hibiscus and those in the Easter lily family, which are not toxic to

How can I preserve my rose petals?

I have a lot of roses from my wedding in all sorts of colors.

I would like to preserve some of the petal so they will last FOREVER!!!. If that is possible?

Does anyone know how to do this? And do the different colors need to be seperated or can they all be put together.

I'd like to put them in a shadow box. I think I've seen this done on TV years ago but can't remember what to do?

HELP!!!!

How can I preserve my rose petals?
you can also hang them to dry upside down (so they stay nice and straight), no need to separate the colours if you dont want to
Reply:Dry on a tray them somewhere warm, like an airing cupboard then use them around the house for potpourri
Reply:There is a product called Silica Gel or Silica Sand that you can get at Hobby Lobby or pretty much any hobby/craft store. You can probably find it at florist shops as well.

This product will preserve the roses or rose petals and their colors beautifully. If you dry them naturally then you will lose shape and color.

Good Luck

Brake petal rock solid?

I was driving my F150 at 10 mph when I pressed the brake petal to slow at a stop sign. The brake petal might have been a rock. It did not budge. I thought the shaft going into the master cylinder bound up. Then the ABS light came on and I could use the brakes again. What happened? Thanks

Brake petal rock solid?
you need a new brake booster (it is the drum behind the master cylinder) but first check the connection(hose)from it to intake manifold and make sure it is still connected if it is then it is the booster
Reply:Take it to a Ford dealer. They can hook up their computer and find out what went wrong (because the abs light came on)
Reply:this has happened several time before to other people also its the abs pump that freezes up temporarily, you need to take it to a dealer and let them run a full diagnostic check on the brake system, they can cause you to have an accident ,but several people have reported having this same problem also, good luck hope this helps.

What flower does not have multiple petals?

I'd like to know what flower has only one petal. Thanks!

What flower does not have multiple petals?
Some flowers will seem to have only one petal and they are called: Gamopetalous. Their petals are united to form a tubular or rotate corolla with the united part known as the tube and the spreading or flat part known as the limb . Some examples are campanula family, petunia family etc...

Some flowers have no petal at all and they are called Naked flowers(apetalous) in Zantedeschia spp. (calla lily). The colored heart shaped "petal" is in fact a bractea, a specialized leaf or leaf-like part used by the plant to attract pollination insects.

I found the word MONOPETALOUS which means: 1. Having only one petal. 2. Having the petals united into one piece by their edges or at the base.

Althought, I have not found a truly one petal flower!

My four year old cant petal a bike, is that normal?

yes, this is normal. my oldest couldn't really pedal a bike until he was almost five. my other two kids though, learned how to peddle at an earlier age because they seen my oldest. he will be fine.

My four year old cant petal a bike, is that normal?
Yes, but it is important not to push them too hard or they could get an inferiority complex over it. Four years old is a very fragile age be careful! I would just let them do it by themselves... they will get it! Not everyone masters the bicycle or roller skates..
Reply:Very normal. Each of us have our own time table in completing tasks.
Reply:My child did not learn how to ride her bike until she was 6. Boy let me tell you that was alot of work.lol
Reply:My 2 year old son just learned how to pedal his tricycle. Make sure the seat is low enough, so she can reach the pedals easily and comfortably. Also, I would suggest starting with training wheels. When she is interested, she will learn.
Reply:My little boy is going to be 6 in July and he just started peddling this summer. He could never pedel his trikes and this is his second bike and he finallly can do it. I think he could even do it without training wheels but I don't wanna scare him. But I think the late start is going to make it more easy when it is time to take them off.

Don't worry about it. He will get it. Good luck!!!
Reply:relax my grandson still doesn't ride well and he's older took him forever to get that one figured out they will though... here go read legs amazing little things its free
Reply:He or she just needs to work on their coordination. Pedaling is tricky for youngstres because they tend to try to push staight down, instead of pushing in a forward motion. Practice makes perfect!!! Good luck!!!
Reply:of corse thats normal! you should put training wheels on it and then take them away gradually
Reply:did you start him on a trike?
Reply:My son is only two, but i have a lot of friends with older kids and not many of them could ride a bike at that age. I have already bought my son a bike, but it's one that will last till he's somewhat older and i dont expect him to ride well for a while. At this point we push him on it, he has fun and his father and I like spending the time playing with him. This way we figure he will always be comfortable on a bike and it may be easier to teach him to ride it himself later.
Reply:i didnt learn to ride a bike until i was 6. Dont worry about it, if the child seems like he/she really has a problem with motor functions and coordination, go see a specialist. Have you considered training wheels, or maybe a tricycle to start out?
Reply:yes, this is normal.
Reply:different age for everyone

i wouldnt worry yet
Reply:you have to help them on how to do it %26amp; show them too by you doing it!

my brother took a while to learn too!
Reply:Its very hard for kids that age to get the hang riding a bike, don't worry your kid will get the hang of it soon enough.
Reply:of course its normal.

but is it a three wheeler or two wheeler?

do not worry. he/ she can soon pedal. it just comes with time/ technique. I will not worry that much =)

How can i print a name on a flower petal?

if you print from the computer, you could tape the petal on the sheet of paper, put in the printer and make sure whatever your writing is in the same place as the petal so that its gonna print out on it.

you could also "stamp" it on there. all you need to do is write the name on a piece of pater, then turn it over and put where it says the name on the petal, put a light sheet over it and iron it. The heat will move the ink from the paper to the petal.

hope this helped, good luck

Any rose petal is edible?

All rose petals are edible. So are the rose hips. Those are the seed pods that form after the flowers fall. The petals are kind of peppery tasting and go well in salads, potato salad, and meat dishes. Just about anything you would put pepper on. Not sure what the hips taste like, but I hear they are good.

Any rose petal is edible?
wow really?
Reply:yes they are. my mom used to make wedding cakes and put rose petals on them. they are mostly for decoration but it is ok to eat them. :)
Reply:Yes, as long as you didn't use a systemic rose food on the plants. Systemic foods have insecticides in them so that, if a bug (like an aphid) eats the foliage, it ingests the poison and dies.

Other flowers that are edible include hybiscus and nasturtium.

Also, never use systemic plant foods for produce-bearing plants. The produce will end up being toxic.
Reply:Edible, yes. Good, no.

Pauline is poisoned after eating her Christmas dinner. She rows with Sonia, runs out in the Square, and dies on Arthur's bench!!

Of course, there have been a few different endings filmed by the BBC,so anything could happen.

Another story is she rows with Sonia, runs into the Square, and falls and bangs her head.

Another...........She plans to kill herself, sets Sonia up, to make it look like Sonia killed her...........there is one witness............Rebecca! I think this is the one they are going with!!!

She wants her cake and eat it too, she is one selfish *****.

And as for Pauline, she is mad and sick in the head, how the hell can you lie and make your son feel like that, she is not human man. I cant wait til her misearble face is off my screen. OH and i think Sonia kills her by accident.

Reply:honey, finally decides she wants her though, and its a very merry xmas for her and baby at last, so you can watch it again now and find out for yourself lol
Reply:Yes pauline dies on xmas day she collpses with a heart attack but before she gose she tells martin that sonina is to blame for her death and yea honey finds that she dose love petel and she sees how much its hurting billy so gets the baby back and they have a happy reunion on xmas day ahh!

In Bulldogs, after setting the rose petal ears, how do you get the upper sections to come down and not stand?

Setting the ear?????? I have a rose eared breed and they just come that way, no human manipulation needed. It may be of note that while a pup is teething the ears may go up down every which way but loose and still settle fine later. If you have a dog with faulty "flyaway" ears you can get short period of correct ears for a pic or show by taping them for a while %26amp; taking the tape off (goo-gone) but I know of no long lasting fix.

What is the function of a petal?

It is almost always for attracting pollenators, but it can have a few more uses to a plant. It can even imitate the shape and colour of a pollenator insect (and attract others of the same insect). Or the colour may be very showy to pollenators - insects or birds. Birds see flowers in the same colours as we do (more or less). But insects are said to have all their colours shifted in such a way that white and yellow flowers are most attractive to them. This partly explains why there are so many white and yellow flowers. Insects use part of the infrared spectrum to see, and that part is mostly invisible to us (non-insects). So they are seeing different colours than we do.

Also, some flowers use their petals to guide pollenators to a convenient position to put the pollen on their head. The pollenators are usually just visiting to get a meal of nectar (juice provided by the plant). Hummingbirds go to Hibiscus plants to get nectar, and the petals help direct them to put their bills in the right place (while the other flower parts drop pollen on the birds' heads, and try to get any pollen from other plants of the same species that the bird visited). And the orchid genus Habenaria uses its complicated orchid petals to drop big balls of pollen on mosquitoes' heads

What is the function of a petal?
I guess to attract pollinators.
Reply:Simply to attract pollinators.
Reply:the others are right ... attracting pollinators. Plants that don't use pollinators (wind pollinated plants) very often have no petals at all (well, not that you'd notice ... if they are there, they are much reduced).
Reply:Pollination and protection of female and male reproductive parts of flowers.
Reply:The petal of a flower is not simply for aesthetic value. the petals have bright colors which attract pollinators, and thus aid in the process of pollination in plants.
Reply:to attract pollinators and also for a landing pad. When the flower is not ready the sepals will cover the flower and when the flower is ready the flower will blossom all the way to tell pollinators that the flower is ready to be pollinated.

Where can I find petals from a cherry blossom for my wedding?
It is way past cherry blossom time in the United States. How do you feel about silk cherry blossoms?
Reply:I believe the cherry blossoms in the US are all gone. Unless you know someone with cherry blossom trees it'll be hard to come by. A wedding planner would probably know best, but I'd check with your local flower shops(the kind that carries trees). They should know also. Good luck!

No not all flower's are edible, they have to be grown especially to eat and just because they are edible doesn't always mean they taste good.

I have edible roses on my wedding cake so ask your local florist they should be able to tell you where to get them.

No...

I would get them at a gourmet market of some sort... if you get them there, they will not be sprayed with pesticides...

If you buy them at a regular grocery store...they may have been sprayed with something you dont know about.

What's the difference between a floret & a petal?

Floret is in fact a complete flower albeit very small in size

( compare book and booklet ; river and rivulet ; )

Petal is an attractive part of a flower

What's the difference between a floret %26amp; a petal?
floret: one of the closely clustered small flowers that make up the flower head of a composite flower, as the daisy.

petal: One of the often brightly colored parts of a flower surrounding the reproductive organs. Petals are attached to the receptacle underneath the carpels and stamens and may be separate or joined at their bases. As a group, the petals are called the corolla.

Brake petal still touching the floor after install caliper, pads, and rotor, no leaks either? any tips?

i just installed a new near driver side brake caliper (the last one froze) new pads and a new rotor, i bleed the brakes, and there was no leaks, but the pedal still goes down very low

Brake petal still touching the floor after install caliper, pads, and rotor, no leaks either? any tips?
That's a power brake booster or master cylinder problem.
Reply:Bleed the wheel cylinders,%26gt;%26gt;?Air in them replace all the brake fluid its over do%26gt;%26gt;?
Reply:You probably have not bled ALL the air out of the system. Even the tiniest air bubble anywhere in the system will compress when you activate the brakes making the pedal spongy. If you didn't keep up refilling the master cylinder as you bled it, it could have forced more air into the lines from the reservoir.

If that's not it, it's probably your master cylinder, but I doubt it if it worked okay until your caliper frose.

Bleed it again.

If you don't already have something, you might consider getting some better equipment to do it with. A simple hand operated vacuum pump would do wonders. Kits are available at most auto parts stores, sometimes Walmart, and usually Sears. They allow you to diagnose vacuum devices, bleed brakes, and diagnose various systems, and include basic diagnostic procedures. When bleeding brakes you can either use it to pull brake fluid through a caliper, or you could reverse it and force fluid back through the caliper. It sure beats using the brake pedal, because it moves a much greater volume of fluid with each stroke.
Reply:sounds like a master cylinder or booster problem
Reply:Make sure all the air is out of the brake lines and the master cylinder is topped off....
Reply:if it goes to the floor then you didnt bleed them!

no car name, no year, no model., no mileage, ABS ?

is this a 1909 Hupmobile?

bleeding today is done 3 ways today.

1- old fashion gravity ,and press pedal open valve close repeat.

2- pressure bleeding.

3- vacuum .

My I suggest going to step 1 , old fashion way.

pump the pedal 3 times, open the bleed nipple with plastic tube connected to end in to bottle.

then when pedal goes to floor, close valve and then and only then raise pedal.

repeat until you HAVE full pedal.

always start from the longest brake line to the shortest.

RR, LR, RF, LF. (depends on front to rear line routing)

if ABS, THIS the ordering, can be different. FIND OUT!

do not let air get ahead of any ABS valve modulator your

you will need expert help.

You need a manual.

There can be other issues.

PS: you can get much better help by joining a forum just for you car. Then they would not have guess about every thing.
Reply:I would keep bleeding both front wheels a few more times and if they don't get any better you might have a bad master cylinder.
Reply:Change the master cylinder its sounds bad, they can leak internally.
Reply:ok if you already bleed the brake lines then you master cylinder is mest up or just the vacumes inside check if you can buy the kit to fix it first if not then your going to have to buy the whole thing but try bleeding all four calipers
Reply:I hope you had another person to help you bleed the brakes, it takes two unless you have the tool to automatically refill the master cylinder. Also did you adjust the ear brakes, the self adjusters to me are just a joke and then again you may have to replace the rear shoes also.
Reply:try bleeding all the brake sistem starting at the bleeder forthist away from the master make sure to pump up the b pedle each time and do it 7-8 times each checking the fluid in the resavore to keep the fluid levle up adjust the rear brakes aswell this can cause extra pedle travel to if all that dos'nt work you need to look at the master cylener

it may not be leaking but it can bypass inside or it can leek inside the booster unbolt the master at the booster and pull it away it will be wet or rusted out ware the back seal

GOOD LUCK BRAD A

What could cause a car to surge and backfire when pushing the gas petal more than half way down?

it's a 1992 jeep chrokee with a strait-six 4.0 liter it starts fine idles ok turns off without running over can't figure this one out

What could cause a car to surge and backfire when pushing the gas petal more than half way down?
worst case scenario burnt valve
Reply:may need a tune up like spark plugs or it good be 2 other things coils are getting ready 2 go or fuelpump fuel filter may need changed
Reply:Spark Plug might have some issue.

Check your air/fuel ratio as well, u might be running rich.
Reply:bad spark plus or a bad air / fule mix most likey the plugs
Reply:bad spark plugs, corroded/cracked valve rings, possibly bad fuel injector/carburator. I would check and possibly change the spark plugs first. It also wouldn't hut to get fuel injector cleaner or even an octane booster. Sometimes it can help get crud out of the lines and injectors. You may want to check the timing on it with a timing gun. It will send out a strobe looking light and you can see where the timing is at. A manual will show you how to use one. I don't think they are too expensive. The only remaining possibility I can think of is something is messed up with your distributor. That's what controls which spark plug fires when according to the position of your cam inside the engine block itself. If this is off at all it can make a difference.
Reply:Have the timing checked, check your fuel filter. Check and make sure all your plug wires are on properly. One may have come off
Reply:What do you meen Turn off without running? I worked on a jeap once that the low voltage wire were broken, the car would start but it would jerk sometimes. It sounds like its and ignition thing, IGNITION TIMING! If the low votage wires are broken it will cause the surge and the backfire! Start the engine ang move the wires around with somthing that you wont get a shok with! If the engine stalls, surges, or back fires you found your problem! If you are haveing a problem with the HI Voltage side of the ignition you might y try looking at the engine at night wile its running and see if you see any sparking! This may sound crazy to you but you may find the problem without spending lots of your cash! Good luck!
Reply:1 Emission system malfunctioning.

2 Incorrect ignition timing.

3 Faulty secondary ignition system component. (carcked spark plug insulator, faulty wires, distributor cap and/or ignition rotor)

4 Fuel injection system malfunctioning.

5 Vacuum leak at fuel pressure regulator, intake manifold, or hoses

6 Valves sticking.

Reply:Rose Hip Jelly

This is a recipe that comes from the Yukon Territory, but rosehips grow anywhere roses grow. You will lose a lot of the beneficial vitmin C when you boil this, but you still get the wonderful taste of the rosehips! Adapted from FoodService Recipes. What a great gift this would make!

8 cups rose hips

water

7 1/2 cups sugar

1/2 teaspoon margarine or butter

1 (3 3/8 ounce) envelope liquid pectin (Certo)

Remove the blossom remnant from the rose hips.

Bring the rose hips and enough water to cover them to a boil and simmer for about 10 minutes.

Crush the rose hips or chop in a food processor.

Strain the juice in a cheesecloth-lined sieve.

Add any additional water if need to bring the juice up to 4 cups.

Bring the juice and sugar to a boil.

Add the margarine, then the liquid pectin.

Bring back to a boil, stirring constantly; boil hard for 1 minute.

Remove from heat.

Skim foam from surface.

Pour into sterile pint jars and seal.

Process in boiling water bath for 5 minutes.

There are lots of different rose jelly recipes out there...I would say pick some and try them....
Reply:You pick about 5 dozens roses from the garden.... You pick off all the petals, try to pick only the very best petals off the rose....Then put them in a zip lock plastic bag....take them to your bedroom....and sprinkle the petals on top of your bed....Then you and I lay on top of them....making hot passionate love....I am sure after we are done...there will be alot of Rose Jelly on your bed....XXOO
Reply:I was a chef and we made it quite often, make sure the roses you use have not be sprayed with pesticides, it is a simple recipe, I make it like tea, I mkae up my sugar syrup and steep the rose petals in it over night then reboil it and then add my pectin powder or liquid, if you use rose water or syrup it is a one step thing, just the syrup the flavour and then the pectin.

It all depends on how much you want to make, a recipe is only good if you have the petals or the flavours to start, it is a simple as making straberry or peach jam without the mess, a touch of lemon juice is nice the brighten up the flavour.
Reply:Rose petal Jelly:

pick rose early in morning as soon as dry from dew. [orjust clean the rose petals you have]

about 6 roses for one jar. about 40 rose petals

blend 1 cup rose petals, 3/4 cup water and the juice of one lemon until smooth.

gradually add 2 1/2 cups sugar. blend until sugar is dissolved

stir 1 package sure-jel in 3/4 cup water and bring to a boil. boil for 1 minute stirring constantly. start blender and add hot solution. blend at low speed until thoroughly mized.

pour into hot sterilized jars and refrigerate until used.

from "canning recipies online"

the jelly is called Razzle Dazzle recipies Rose petal jellly recipie.

Enjoy!

Yum-O!
Reply:It is important that you use roses from your garden or a garden that uses no pesticides.

1 cup fresh rose petals (must never have been sprayed with any chemicals) 3/4 cup water

Juice of 1 lemon

2 1/2 cups sugar,

1 package pectin (ie. Sure Jell)

3/4 cup water

Puree rose petals, 3/4 cup water and lemon juice in blender until smooth. Slowly add sugar. Blend till all sugar has dissolved; (leave in blender) Stir 1 package pectin (ie. Sure Jell) into 3/4 cup water, bring to a boil, and boil hard for 1 minute. Pour mixture into blender with rose petal mixture until well blended. Do this very quickly - it sets up FAST!! Pour into baby food jars. Let set for 6 hours, till firm. Will keep one month in refrigerator. Freezes well.

Which of the following would most likely be found as a fossil:a clam, shell, flower petal or an ancient worm? Why

Clam. They have the hardest shells, and are least subject to decomposition.

A flower petal would be least likely. Petals and worms would leave trace fossils--fossil impressions in clay. But they have no hard parts that would survive to mineralization.

Which of the following would most likely be found as a fossil:a clam, shell, flower petal or an ancient worm? Why
the shell, or clam shell.. your commas confuse me. but it has to do with the material its orignally made of, and how it reacts to the fossilization process. the other items would be more likely to decompose rather then fossilize

On Rock Band, what do you use the drum petal for?
As the above poster stated, it is used as a bass (i.e. "kick") pedal.

In the game, you play the pedal whenever you see the long, horizontal, orange line that is as long as the whole note area.

Add tranny fluid(Dextron III), and look for a leak.

If a bridesmaid slipped on a flower petal and hurt herself, should she sue the bride and groom?

While walking down the aisle, she slips on the petals dropped by the flower kids.

If a bridesmaid slipped on a flower petal and hurt herself, should she sue the bride and groom?
It's not a question of could she...she COULD. (she probably wouldn't win though.) It's SHOULD she. And the answer is only if she values money more than friendship. Because I can think of nothing nastier than suing a close friend over something that small. It's reasonable to expect the B%26amp;G to offer to cover any medical bills if it's a serious injury. But if we're talking a sprained ankle - stand up, smile you silly cow, wish your friends a nice honeymoon, and watch where you're walking next time!
Reply:How obnoxious of her to do so, but nothing would surprise me.
Reply:OMG... if the bridemaid is a ******.. yes she would do any thing to spoil happines on the new couple!
Reply:no bc she knowingly walked down the aisle with the flower petals on it. so she is liable no the bride and groom. no one made her do it. it was her own free will to walk down the aisle.
Reply:No, I can't see that happening.
Reply:NO...
Reply:No, she should just learn to watch where she's going and walk carefully.
Reply:no. thats ridiculous, watch out where your going
Reply:No. It's a stupid accident that could've (but probably wouldn't) happen to anybody. Get up, count your losses, move on with your life, and enjoy the wedding.
Reply:No.
Reply:no! it's there wedding! just get compensation
Reply:Not a good idea! Just a good way to ruin a friendship!
Reply:how could she possibly blame that on anyone,

she might as well sue the flower company, the carpet company, and the company she bought her shoes from as well
Reply:she should sue the priest/rabbi. or she should sue the company who sold the flowers to the bride and groom...or she can sue the place who is hosting the wedding! ahhhh...i love america!
Reply:Definitely not! Accidents happen and it is in no way the bride or grooms fault why not blame the flowergirl she dropped them no sorry but seriously no i dont think you'd be able to sue for that one .
Reply:No. It's a freak accident.
Reply:No way jose!
Reply:She could try, but it seems like a pretty small thing to sue for.
Reply:You can sue anybody for anything. But the question is, will you win? Usually, only the lawyers win.

Is the 'She Loves Me Not' petal in the flower or in your mind?

who would have something they dont like in their mind

they would never be able to get it out
Reply:I am the sin. She is the saint. I am the dirty, filthy secret. Hide me but don't think I can be hidden.
Reply:Neither it is actually in the heart!
Reply:for me if i feel it i say it right from my mind and my heart and not from the petal of a flower only;)
Reply:Well, logically if you have a flower with odd number amount of petals and you start off with 'she loves me' then the last petal will end with 'she loves me' as well.

Though petal picking is not entirely reliable even though millions practice it.

I think the best way to find out whether she loves you or loves you not is to simply ask!!

Kind regards, Fiona.
Reply:its all in ur mind its just that v see whats in our mind through things coz that is what we have ben looking for.
Reply:The "She Loves Me Not' petal is in your mind, because if you really thought and KNEW that she loved you, you wouldn't have to ask a flower. If she loved you, you would see it in her eyes and feel it in her touch and hear it in her voice...You would KNOW with no daisy needed....don't pull the flowers apart...use them to make daisy chains for your love...that is....if she loves you.

Daisy Girl Scout Smock Petal- Can I remove them?

Is there a way to remove a daisy iron-on petal (Daisy girl scouts) without harming the smock? I placed my daughters first 3 on and I realized that I spaced them too far apart!! HELP!!

Daisy Girl Scout Smock Petal- Can I remove them?
I hated those things! Sorry but no, you can't you will rip it, just do your best with the others ones-she only wears it for a year or so. Really, you should see some of them-HORRIBLE!
Reply:Try reheating them with an iron and see if it melts enough to pull them off.
Reply:Turn the tunic over and iron behind the petal. This will release it if you gently pull while it's still hot. I've had to do this before. Unfortunately, depending on the color petal that you're looking to remove it will leave a little bit of color residue.

If you are trying to just move one because you need room to evenly space the petals, this should work out fine. You could always just kind of "smoosh" one in between the two instead.

If you're trying to remove all of the petals so you can re-use the tunic, this might not be the best idea...just go for a new tunic. There are sew-together kits that are cheap and easy to assemble.

FYI, always sew a stitch or two into the iron-on patches...some like to fall off and the daisy petals are now sold as a full set and hard to replace just one without buying a whole new set.
Reply:Well there really isn't anything you can do sorry. I've seen daisies with their petals sort of in a line. So don't feel bad.

Looking for a lavender flower petal design baby quilt top to embroider?

I would like to find a pattern similiar to the baby quilt at Pottery Barn kids called Lavender flower petals. I want to embroider this quilt top for my expected Granddaughter

Looking for a lavender flower petal design baby quilt top to embroider?
I looked at the Pottery Barn Kids website - I assume you mean the Lavender Flower Patch quilt (first link below). If so, the "Lavender" in the name is more about the color than the actual flower, since lavender looks nothing like this. You could probably draw this out yourself (click the "view larger" link for better detail). It looks like the flower petal are appliqued on, but they're a fairly simple shape so it shouldn't be too difficult. The stems appear to be embroidered, and they're also nice simple straight lines. If you really want the exact shapes, print the blown up picture and then enlarge it further on a copy machine until it's the size you want.

It's an adorable quilt - I'm sure your version will be beautiful.

What are some silly terms of endearment? Like "light of my life", "my delicate rose petal", etc?

My friend and I go back and forth and it's kind of an inside joke and I'm writing them a letter and I don't want to use the same ones. =P The sappier the better!

What are some silly terms of endearment? Like "light of my life", "my delicate rose petal", etc?
These are not silly terms. I tried to picture the person who would ask this question. With your sense of humor, I bet your eyes sparkle in the day like the stars at night and your smile is as pretty as a rainbow after a spring shower. Even if you were to have a sad thought your tears would only be like dew on a morning rose. Your voice would most likely be like a melody that enters my ears to become a symphany of your being in my mind. You are probably as pretty as a Georgia Peach. But these are not silly, just truthful! Have a nice day.
Reply:My partner and I try to top each other for the schmaltziest endearment.

Rose Petal Ice Cream?

I recently tried rose petal ice cream and it was exquisite! I have an ice cream maker at home and wanted to know how to make the ice cream. Do you actually add real rose petals? When would you add them? How do you add them? The ice cream did have some pieces of rose petals, a slight floral fragrance and subtle taste. If you are familiar with ice cream making and have made rose petal ice cream before, I would greatly appreciate any tips or advice.

THANKS!

Rose Petal Ice Cream?
I am a former chef and have made it and had it in Singapore and in Paris also, if you use rose petals, make sure to get ones not sprayed with pestiside, some places have dried ones, tried a health food store, the rose syrup or rose water is from Indian stores or a Mexican shops.

With the rose petals dry them and crumble them into the custard base (I use condensed milk and a bit of light cream for richness), a bit of rosewater or syrup is a good additive, then process in the ice maker.

When you make the base, it should be a bit sweeter, keep some for after or to sprinkle on top, even a place that sells cake decorating supplies might have candied or crytalized rose petals.
Reply:Persian recipes on Allrecipes.com.
Reply:That's awesome! I had this ice cream in Paris! I made it at home afterwards. You have to use "rose water". Make regular vanilla ice cream base and then add the rose water. I had to go to a specialty shop to find a food-grade rose water. You could try finding it online... that's probably the best bet since they won't sell it in just any store.

You can also find the rose ice cream recipe online, try allrecipes.com or foodnetwork.

Good Luck!
Reply:You can get rose syrup at most Indian grocers. Some bottles have actual rose pieces in them. Simply add it to the other ingredients in the ice cream.

Hi All :) .. Would YOU rather be a TEAR in a child's eye, OR the FINAL PETAL of a dying flower? :D?

Explain your answer.............

Thanks for answering in advance.

**Have a Wonderful weekend, ahead**

Thanks for sharing..........

Take care!

Hi All :) .. Would YOU rather be a TEAR in a child's eye, OR the FINAL PETAL of a dying flower? :D?
Hi! Kimberly,

I would rather be a tear in child's eye because the tear serves as a cleansing process of my child's emotion outburst. It serves as a way to relieve his excess baggage of loneliness, heartache's or pain or suffering in life. I see it as a way for my child to unload the burden of problems that needs to be uncarried.

The final petal of a dying flower serves no purpose for me for it will soon detach and leave nothing but an end of life. I couldn't see any momentum that will make it bloom as the same flower for there is no more flower to speak. It would be another chapter or story to know behind it's death.

Thanks for asking. Have a great day!
Reply:Final Petal, it sounds beautiful
Reply:That's a good question. There's more love coming from tears than a dying flower and being the final petal of a dying flower could be endless torture. So I'd rather be a tear in a child's eye.
Reply:Well, tears don't always signify sadness. Tears can also be joy or excitement or even tears of laughter, so I guess I would choose tears over dying flowers.
Reply:If the child's tear was a tear of joy or happiness, then i would be a child's tear.
Reply:As the mother of three who has had to dry many a tear, I would never want to be the cause of that pain, children rarely cry from happiness, they just aren't built that way. It's an adult way to express emotion. As for being the final petal on a dying flower why would I want to be that either??? I would want to end my life the way that I lived it to the fullest not waiting for the end and having no control over how it happens.
Reply:omg, what total crap.

and how many times do you have to thank us? 3 times? what is going on?
Reply:Neither or either. It wouldn't matter, I would have no sense of it in either scenario.

Edit: I semi-second May's wft.

Edit: Sorry, I felt like being an asshole. I wasn't going to pass up my opportunity.
Reply:Neither, sweet though. I'd rather be me.
Reply:Neither and I couldn't it's impossible I'm a human so I couldn't do that. I really hate philosophy sometimes it just seems so silly and pointless. sorry I guess I'm in a bad mood
Reply:I would be the final petal of a dying flower, because even though the flower is dead, someone or something or even time itself shall remember its grace whilst it existed. And its beauty remains even though it has passed.
Reply:A tear, then my parent would come and comfort me and make it all better.
Reply:I'd rather be the final petal of a dying flower. WHY?

* The FINAL means I've had my own role and contribution to others during my lifetime. I've had this to the utmost degree.

* A tear in a child's eye could evoke someone to do a great thing; but a petal could make a whole life anew.
Reply:I'd rather be a meatball in the lap of mister angry business man.
Reply:i would rather be a child's tear because then i would be saltay!!
Reply:wtf? neither.
