Can i put rose petal in my tank for a subsitution for floating plants?
Fake silk plants bought at the craft area of wal mart for a dollar will float, and because there isn't as much plastic on them as most fake plants they are less likely to harm tails.

Reply:NOOOO. They will break down and "rot" in the tank and mess up the tanks chemistry
Reply:no no no

rose petals will rot..

it will kill your fishies
Reply:try duck weed its great as are so many other plants you can get at the fish store. Duck weed dos'nt need to be planted it just floats around the top.
Reply:water plants will live in the water and oxygenate it. Rose petals will rot in the water, pollute it and take oxygen out.
