I have a 1989 dodge caravan it starts but stays running only if i pump the gas petal really fast?

I have replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, throttle body, injector,coil,pick up coil plugs wires 4 relays and pretty much everything else must be simple. I am missing something if i dump fuel directly into throttle body it stays running//i have all those parts i mentioned extra now please help.

By the way my expertise is auto/motorcycle sales, but I sometimes get lucky with diagnostics. If the carb and fuel pump are carbing and pumping, and the spark stuff is sparking, and you didn't state but I'm sure that all your emissions filters are clean, (right?), now its time to get down under. How's that catylitic converter look? They sometime get clogged or rusty and collapse in on themselves. If it looks bad either punch a hole in it or bypass it temporarily and see if things improve.. But all that you describe spells fuel pump problem. Could be you got a bad one.

  1. check the fuel pressure regulator. The part is located inside the throtle body when you remove the air filter. it looks copper in color. good luck
